The Energy Efficiency Investment Forum (EEIF) was a two-day conference held in conjunction with the United Nations Commission on Sustainable Development, designed to attract investors, financiers, private firms, end users, and development agencies to showcase and expand profitable, energy efficiency business opportunities in the developing world.Sponsored by the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership (REEEP), the Forum fulfilled the objectives of increasing investor awareness of the significant market opportunities for energy efficiency investments in developing countries; enhancing corporate understanding of investor issues and options; identifying investment players and prospective partners; sharing successful business and financing model structures for such projects; and featuring sound, bankable energy efficiency project opportunities.
ESG designed, organized, facilitated and managed the Forum. This work included:
Formed an advisory team consisting of Forum sponsors, consultants, senior-level government and development agency representatives, NGO representatives, and investors to fully identify themes and goals for the EEIF.With the team, ESG created a concept note/agenda for the Forum and identified and invited Forum speakers and attendees.
Obtained additional funding from donors to sponsor the travel and lodging costs for speakers from developing countries, as well as additional conference costs.
Designing all publicity materials for the Forum including a Web site with on-line registration, an EEIF logo, Forum materials (agenda, signage, bags, etc), publicity emails, and Web site postings. In addition, ESG wrote press releases to further publicize the event to the international community.
Managed registration and other on-site issues at the Forum such as setting up signage, taking photos, identifying and greeting speakers, managing speaker presentations, and organizing the reception.
Captured highlights and producing a Forum communiqué distributed to all Forum participants and participants at the CSD 14, as well as making available all presentations and conference documents on the Forum Web site. In addition, ESG published the final Forum proceedings.
